Director’s profile

Anna Shotton has over 20 years of experience in peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance and human rights. She has in-depth knowledge of the UN system, having spent 15 years in UN peacekeeping and with the World Food Programme. She has worked throughout Africa and in Asia, and was based for 5 years in East Africa. Anna also has thematic expertise in preventive diplomacy, political mediation, gender mainstreaming, security sector reform, rule of law, DDR of former combatants, and mine action.
